Viewpoint is a top-down game set on Mars, where you control a spaceship. The game's story revolves around an alien invasion, and your goal is to destroy the enemy base while avoiding obstacles and enemy fire.

How to Play
Title Screen
When you insert the cassette and turn on the power, the title and demo screens will appear.
Press the start button on the controller to bring up the option screen.
Game Level Settings
The game difficulty can be set to 5 types. It is initially set to Normal.
To play at other levels, select with the up and down levers and confirm with the A button.

Easy Mode: For beginners

Normal Mode: For intermediate players

Hard Mode: For advanced players

Hardest Mode: For experts
•
MVS Mode: A level close to the arcade version (intermediate between Normal and Hard)
Game Start
Your ship launches and the battle begins. If you lose all your ships, it's game over.
You can continue up to 3 times by pressing the start button.
About Loading (Data Recall)
If you use a separately sold "Memory Card" with this game, you can easily save and load.
If a memory card with game data is inserted, the "Load Selection Screen" will display after level setting.

If you select "YES", you can play from the beginning of the stage you last saved.
About Memory Card Save (Data Recording)

About 2-Player Play
In this game, you can play alternately by connecting two controllers.
When playing with two people, press both start buttons. After 1P loses their ship, the 2P game starts.
Please prepare a separately sold controller for 2-player play.
Tips & Maps
VIEW POINT
The 'Viewpo' fighter is equipped with numerous attack weapons, and mastering their characteristics and power is key to controlling it in special space. In special space, touching left and right walls does not cause damage, which is an effective technique to avoid enemy attacks.
Option
Picking up an option item equips the 'option,' causing normal shots to fire from both sides. This option can also block enemy bullets or damage enemies through contact.
Normal Shot
The most basic attack, fired by pressing the A button from your ship and the option. You can fire rapidly by repeatedly pressing the button.
Wave Cannon
This attack has more destructive power than a normal shot, charged by holding down the A button and released to fire, penetrating some enemies. It powers up in 4 stages depending on charge time, but normal shots cannot be fired while charging.
Bomb Attack
'Bomb Attack' deals damage to all enemies on screen at once, fired with the B button. There are 3 types of bombs, each with unique characteristics, and you can stock up to 3.
Firewall Bomb (Red)
A wall of fire appears in a horizontal line, moving forward on the screen and incinerating enemies it touches.
Homing Bomb (Green)
Automatic homing missiles detect and destroy enemies on the screen.
Shockwave Bomb (Blue)
A ripple spreads out from the front of your ship, dealing great damage to enemies it touches.
Slowro
Small fry enemies that appear in groups and can be defeated with one shot from the wave cannon.
Destroyer
A central enemy that should be the focus of your attack.
Richard
A giant gear-shaped enemy that blocks your way in the trap zone, which you can avoid even if you can't defeat it.
Snapping Turtle King
The stage boss that spews a large amount of bullets and is equipped with laser cannons on both sides; the basic strategy is to dodge and shoot.
Coils
Numerous enemies that show mysterious movements and should be destroyed with the wave cannon along with the turret 'Groan'.
Shachi
Beautiful fish in the underwater stage that you should not let your guard down against.
Gonger
A giant fish that spits out dangerous mines.
Hydra
A dangerous dragon's incarnation whose head must be hit with several wave cannons; running away is also an option.
Chappy
An enemy that appears by jumping around and is fast, making rapid-firing normal shots a good strategy.
Sea Anemone
An enemy that is an incarnation of a sea anemone, behind which an eerie statue awaits.
Items & Weapons
Barrier
It defends against enemy attacks, but your power decreases by the amount of attack defended. If you defend against the weakest attack, the barrier's color changes from white to yellow, then red, and it disappears on the 4th hit.
1 Up
Increases your stock by 1. You can also increase your stock by earning points.
Bonus
Special points are added. By continuing to collect them, you can earn increasingly high scores. There are also 3,310 points (Sammy points).
Enemies & Characters
Covered
A red block that can be destroyed to invade and escape.
Checta
A central block that can be destroyed with enough effort.
Marine
A nest that cannot be destroyed, so you must avoid it.
Matuba
The second boss, whose foam bomb cannot be destroyed in one hit. Even after destroying its hard shell, it continues fierce attacks.
Big Turtle
A rotating turtle; the moment it stops is your chance to attack. While it's rotating, you should avoid it.
