Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is a tie-in to the 2011 movie Green Lantern , based on the DC comic. This version of the game is mostly 2D side scrolling as opposed to the 3D versions for PS3 and Xbox 360. In the game, the player takes control of Hal Jordan, who is part of the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps. Long ago, the guardians of the universe created androids that acted as an interstellar police force called the Manhunters. These androids became corrupted and started punishing all life in the galaxy. They were exiled but have now returned to seek revenge.
Gameplay includes mostly 2D side scrolling action. The player can use the Green lantern ring as several weapons, like a gun, sword or hammer, to defeat enemies. Some sections of the game are played from a behind view on the Nintendo 3DS.
