PilotWings Resort is a flight simulation game set on Wuhu Island, which was previously featured in Wii Sports Resort and
In Free Flight Mode, players can visit landmarks, collect diorama's of planes and monuments, balloons, and stunt rings, or take photos of planes and scenic views. The more items collected, the longer time is given to explore, gradually increasing the island's available range.
In Mission Mode, players earn stars by completing goals such as flying through hoops, landing aircraft in exact spots, or shooting targets. Meeting parameters earns more stars, up to three per mission. Completed missions contribute to a new rank, starting with Training, then Bronze, Silver, Gold, and finally Platinum.
Players can save their photos taken during gameplay to the 3DS photo album for viewing outside the game and sharing with others. PilotWings Resort was a launch title in all regions except Japan and Oceania, serving as a sequel or 'three-dimensional update' to Pilotwings on the SNES and Pilotwings 64 on the Nintendo 64.
PilotWings Resort was released on March 27, 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS.
