Rayman Legends is a fast-paced 2D platformer that follows the adventures of Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies as they battle to save their world from the dark teensies created by the Magician's defeat in the previous game. After a century-long slumber, the heroes are awoken to find that new nightmares have taken hold, with the princesses and other teensies being held captive.
The gameplay remains true to its predecessor, with up to four players able to work together to progress through side-scrolling levels, defeat enemies, and collect Lums. Players will need to rescue a set number of teensies on each level, which unlocks new worlds and challenges. New powers, such as projectile-firing, are added to the mix, along with the helpful appearance of Murfy, a greenbottle who can aid players in various ways.
The game offers a variety of levels, including regular side-scrolling stages, "invaded" versions that require quick completion, and rhythm-based levels set to humorous song covers. Collecting Lucky tickets allows players to unlock 40 remastered levels from Rayman Origins. With daily and weekly challenges, as well as a local multiplayer soccer mini-game called Kung Foot, there's plenty of content to keep players entertained.
