Zombie Army Trilogy is a tactical first-person shooter that brings together elements from Sniper Elite V2, offering a unique gaming experience. For the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, this marks the first release of the content in these markets. Existing owners of the standalone titles on Steam were given a 60% discount to upgrade.
In this alternate history tale, Hitler unleashes an undead horde from his bunker at the end of World War II, with the aim of conquering the world. Players take on the role of German soldiers who must stop this undead assault. The gameplay focuses on stealth and long-range rifles as a primary weapon, with other tools such as machine guns, pistols, and bazookas serving as secondary options.
The tactical approach is evident in the game's design, particularly at higher difficulty levels where factors like wind and bullet drop physics come into play. Players must navigate to checkpoints or retrieve relics while using tools like grenades, trip wire traps, and land mines to outmaneuver their enemies. The game also features a melee attack option.
Across the three episodes, players can explore 15 levels in total. The third episode, Beyond Berlin , introduces larger maps with more room for experimentation and trap usage. This new level adds a range of options, including decoys and traps. Players can choose from multiple difficulty levels and customize enemy setup. The game also includes four female playable characters, expanding the existing cast.
Before starting a mission, players can define their loadout with a rifle, secondary weapon, pistol, and additional items. Cooperative gameplay is supported for up to four players, and a new Horde survival mode has been added on five new maps.
