Hugo is a action-adventure game based on a popular TV series for kids. The goal of the game is to survive and collect as many money bags as possible, with the amount needed to beat a level depending on the chosen difficulty level. The game includes five levels inspired by mini games from the TV show.
The gameplay involves avoiding obstacles while navigating through different environments such as underwater snorkeling, snowboarding, forest, ice cave, and more. In some levels, Hugo has to dodge obstacles that move towards him, while in others he must jump or duck to avoid them. The fifth level can only be unlocked after completing the previous four.
The Game Boy Color version of Hugo includes a training mode that allows players to practice individual levels before tackling the full game.
