The classic board game Monopoly , from Sculptured Software, was released for the Game Boy in 1992. The game is an adaptation of the popular franchise, allowing players to take on the role of a property tycoon in a bid to bankrupt their opponents.
Gameplay involves rolling dice to move around the board, buying and selling properties, building houses and hotels, and collecting rent from other players who land on them. Players can also negotiate with each other during auctions or trades. The game supports up to eight human players or four computer-controlled opponents.
A time limit can be set for games, as well as customized settings such as the amount of starting money and properties owned by each player. The game also features a range of preset scenarios with different starting parameters, adding an extra layer of replayability.
