Armored Core 3 puts you in the shoes of a Raven mercenary, with the task of piloting your own battle machine to use in various tasks. Your mission is to destroy enemy mechs or complete seek and destroy missions. After each successful mission, you get paid full amount. The money earned can then be used to buy items for your mech.
The gameplay revolves around customizing and upgrading your mech with different parts and weapons. You can improve your shields, weapon power, or even purchase an Exceed Orbit, which is a smaller robot gun placement that enhances fire power. Additionally, the game includes four-player deathmatch modes where players compete against each other in battles to see who is the last one standing.
