Memory Card
To save game settings and progress, insert a memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2) into MEMORY CARD slot 1 of your PlayStation®2 system.
You can load saved game data from the same memory card or any memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2) containing previously saved games.
Starting a New Game
The first time you play the game, select New Game from the main menu and select an icon to save your profile. Every time you complete a task, change your outfit, or change your horse's tack, the game will save.
Loading a Saved Game
When you'd like to play again, just select Load Game and then select your profile icon. The game will start at the last adventure or riding challenge you completed. Make sure you don't select New Game, and the icon, or you might write over your existing profile!
Getting Started & Game Controls
The adventure begins in the Robert's Stables, where Jenna Roberts and her nephew Kyle are ready to help you settle in. Move towards Jenna and press the Action button to start off on your first adventure. When you're talking to people, you can press to keep up with the text, or press to skip it. You can also use the Action button to interact with objects all over the island!
You can use it to pick up hay, enter the bunkhouse, or to help Gordo the stable kitten down out of his tree. You can also interact with anything that sparkles! Jenna and Kyle will teach you all about caring for your horse, and the basics of horse riding.

Riding and Horse Care
Once you've selected your horse, approach it from the side and press to mount up.
Your horse has four needs - he needs to eat, drink, be groomed, and have his hooves scraped. You can take care of his needs at the Care Stations in the Roberts Stables, at the Racetrack and in the Old Riding House. If you don't take care of your horse he'll run more slowly. Remember, a healthy horse is a happy horse.
Shopping
As you play the game, you'll earn camp credits for taking part in riding lessons and helping out with stable chores. You can also earn credits by collecting Apples, Horseshoes and Gems around the island.
Once you have some camp credits, visit the Bunkhouse or the Tack Shop to customize Barbie® or your horse. There are lots of clothes and accessories to choose from!
Cell Phone
The cell phone has lots of cool features! You can use it to:
•
Get hints and tips from Jenna, Kyle and Teresa - just check your messages!
•
Get a ride back to the stables! Select the phone icon, and Kyle will give you a ride.
•
See where you are - select the map! As well as landmarks, the map includes gold stars to show where adventures can be found, orange dots for useful items, and blue dots for horse care stations.
You can't use your cell phone while you're in the stables caring for the horses, or while you're swimming.
