Downhill Slalom is a single-player skiing game from Tuna Technologies that is very similar to their snowboarding game Snow Rider . It was originally released on the Playstation 2 platform, but later released on PC in 2006. The game was published by Phoenix Games. The game follows the story of the player character, who competes in a series of skiing challenges against other characters. The player's goal is to complete courses as quickly and accurately as possible while avoiding obstacles. As the player progresses through the game modes, they can unlock new characters, courses, and upgrades.
Downhill Slalom has three main game modes: Slalom, Token Dash, and Sprint. In Slalom mode, the player must navigate a course with gates while racing against the clock. In Token Dash, the player collects coins and power-ups as they descend the mountain. The Sprint mode is a straight race to the bottom of the mountain.
The game tracks the player's progress through a ranking system, where they start as "Beginner" and work their way up to "Champ". Winning gold medals in each game mode unlocks new characters, courses, and upgrades. Completing all three game modes awards the title of Resort Champion.
