Gadget Racers is a racing game in the Choro Q series, featuring no RPG elements. Players choose tracks and races through a menu system similar to other racing games.
The player starts by selecting one of six car bodies, with additional bodies available for purchase through the shop. Upgrading the vehicle involves buying parts, including normal and specialized components like wings or skis. Money is earned by completing races, with bonuses awarded based on position.
Game modes include Sprint, Grand Prix, Engine Regulation, Endurance, Off-Road Regulation, Body Type Regulation, Parts Regulation, and Duel. Sprint races offer three difficulty levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Upper.
Grand Prix requires licenses gained from the Driving School, allowing players to choose from three GP options:
Engine Regulation races are ranked in three classes based on engine horsepower: Light, Middle, and Heavy.
Endurance races feature more laps than regular races, with only five tracks available.
Off-Road Regulations test the player's ability to handle off-road situations, with three grades: Dirt Mini, Dirt Big, and Dirt HG.
Body Type Regulation races are split into eight styles, based on the body type of the player's vehicle.
Parts Regulation races focus on special parts, designed to test the player's skills.
Duel races are one-on-one competitions against the computer.
