Alpine Ski Racing 2007 is the sequel to both the Ski Racing series and RTL Ski Alpin 2006 , but has overall more similarities to the latter. It's a downhill ski racing game.
The game features three different difficulties and it comes with six game modes: slalom, giant slalom, super-g, downhill, free ride and speed-downhill. But the heart of the game is the career mode: here the player undergoes a whole season and tries to be as successful as possible - a good enough overall rank will cause a promotion to the next higher league for the next season.
The game also includes various options before every event, such as betting on the outcome and choosing the correct wax compound. Additionally, players must keep their financial balance in check and train to improve their athlete's abilities. If needed, they can hire a coach to help with this task.
Players have 38 different races to compete in, set across 16 different peaks. They can create their own athlete or choose from pre-defined ones, including real-life athletes such as Bode Miller and Hermann Maier.
