Gadget Racers is a racing game in the Choro Q series. This title differs slightly compared to other games, with no RPG elements and a menu system similar to Gran Turismo. The player chooses their car body from six options, which can be upgraded by buying parts.
The gameplay involves completing races to gain money, with bonuses added depending on the player's position. Money can be spent on parts to upgrade the vehicle. Game modes include Sprint, Grand Prix, Engine Regulation, Endurance, Off-Road Regulation, Body Type Regulation, Parts Regulation, and Duel.
Grand Prix requires licenses gained from the Driving School, which unlocks different GP choices. Engine Regulation races are ranked in three classes based on engine horsepower. Endurance races feature more laps than regular races, but only have five tracks available. Off-Road Regulations test the player's ability to handle off-road situations.
Body Type Regulation races are split into eight styles and are based on the vehicle body type. Parts Regulation races focus on special parts. Duel races are one-on-one races against the computer.
