Hard Rock Casino is a gambling simulation game that includes over 20 different gambling games, including Slots, Poker, Blackjack, Baccarat, Craps, Roulette, and Pai Gow, as well as horse race and sports betting. There are unique NPC characters to meet and play against, side tasks to complete, invitation-only tournaments, and unlockables for enhancing your customized character. The game also features a tutorial accessed from the main menu.

The game has three modes: Adventure, Quick Play, and Poker Tournaments. In Adventure mode, you create an identity and start at the Hard Rock Casino . You're free to play any game but must complete set goals before unlocking the next casino. While playing at the Hard Rock, you may also be asked to undertake challenges or side tasks, which can earn extra money.

In Quick Play mode, you access all games in unlocked casinos, playing as a randomly selected game character. There are no goals or challenges here. Poker Tournaments give you instant access to tournaments available in Adventure and Quick Play modes, but Adventure has more table limits.

The game features four different casinos with their own games, house rules, and table limits. You start with $1000 at the Hard Rock Casino. The goal is to win lots of money and earn a high enough reputation to play in invitation-only tournaments and high-stakes games. Your objective is to become the "Hard Rock High Roller".
