Charge 'N Blast is a shooting game where you play as one of three marines who have to rid the earth of alien scum. The gameplay is similar to Cabal, you move left and right dodging enemies while charging up your weapons to blast them away.
The game offers three different playable characters: Johnny Rock, Pamela Hewitt, and Nicholas Woods, each with their own unique set of weapons. This variety allows for different playstyles, making the game more enjoyable for players who like to experiment.

Gameplay controls use the X, Y, or B buttons to select weapons, A to charge and shoot, and the analog stick for aiming. Different types of weapons are suited for specific enemies, such as single missiles for distant targets or torpedoes for underwater foes.
Players can fire their weapon continuously, but this method yields less damage than charging each shot. Charging shots requires more precise aiming, especially in later levels. Players can also dodge enemies using the L and R buttons.
