The Last Story takes place on Lazulis Island, home to the harbour town of Lazulis City. A group of mercenaries, led by Zael and his surrogate brother Dagran, are hired for a task by Count Arganan that will take them across the island and into the ocean.
The Last Story is an action RPG that focuses on enemy attention. The player controls Zael directly, giving commands to the rest of the party, who will draw the enemy's focus away from him. Other enemies may target other party members instead, allowing Zael to safely attack them.
The Last Story features two multiplayer modes: co-operative mode, where up to six players work together to complete missions, and competitive mode, where players battle each other until only one remains standing.
The Last Story was released on the Wii console on 24th February 2012.
