Dragoneer's Aria is an RPG game that follows its hero, Valen, as he prepares to become a "Dragoon" in Granadis when a black dragon suddenly appears during his graduation ceremony. The dragon causes destruction but is repelled by a water dragon. After the chaos settles, Valen meets Euphe and they set out to discover the origin of the attacking dragon.
The game features turn-based battles and a crafting system that lets players create accessories and weapons. The story is told through cutscenes with in-game graphics, supported by both English and Japanese voice acting. In the Western release, players can choose their preferred language for the voices before starting a new game. On-screen texts are displayed in English.
Up to four players can team up via the PSP's Wireless mode, each controlling a member of the party that can then explore dungeons and loot treasures.
