Dragoneer's Aria is an RPG game that follows its hero, Valen, as he becomes a "Dragoon" in the city of Granadis. Suddenly, an evil black dragon appears during his graduation ceremony, causing death and destruction. However, it is repelled by a water dragon, and after the chaos settles down, Valen meets a girl named Euphe with whom he goes on a quest to uncover the origin of the attacking black dragon.
The game features turn-based battles and a crafting system that allows players to create accessories and weapons. The story is told through cutscenes rendered in-game graphics, with English and Japanese voice acting available. In the Western release, players can choose between language options for the voices before starting a new game, while on-screen texts are in English.
Up to four players can join forces via the PSP's Wireless mode, each controlling a member of the party that can then loot dungeons together.
