Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is a visual novel that follows the story of a young woman named Chizuru who is searching for her missing father. Set around the end of Edo period, when samurai warriors are becoming a relic of the past. While not being a straightforward love simulation, the game allows you to pursue relationships with some of the male characters.

Gameplay involves guiding Chizuru through various scenarios and interactions, making choices that affect the story's outcome. The gameplay is largely driven by dialogue choices and events unfolding in front of you, as well as mini-games and action sequences that punctuate the narrative. The ultimate goal is to uncover the truth about Chizuru's father and her own destiny.
