The LocoRoco thought everyone was safe and happy, but the nasty Moja Troop returns with a dreadful song that sucks out the life of all living things. The player must control the planet once more to protect the LocoRoco and the entire planet itself.

LocoRoco 2 is a sequel to the PSP game, LocoRoco . As with the original game, the player controls the planet by tilting it using the L and R Buttons on the PSP. The player can also tap the Circle button to scare the LocoRoco, making them split apart into smaller ones that can squeeze through gaps.

As players explore the LocoRoco's world, they will encounter places poisoned by the Moja's awful singing. By hitting the black blobby areas with the LocoRoco, the poison will break off and restore the area to normal. Players can also destroy Mojas themselves in the same way.

Collecting musical notes will give players bonus help in exploring the levels. Occasionally, players will encounter brief mini-games where they must tap the beat to the LocoRoco's songs to earn even more musical notes.

New to LocoRoco 2 is Loco Rider - this mini-game can be played wirelessly with up to four players in ad-hoc mode. The aim is to push opponents into the thorns using your LocoRoco to shrink theirs before they do the same to you!

LocoRoco 2 was released on 2009-02-10 for the PlayStation Portable.
