Marvel Super Hero Squad is an action beat-em-up game for one to four players that is based on the animated Marvel TV series. The game is set in Super Hero City and sees the Super Hero Squad battling against Dr. Doom's Lethal Legion of villains.
The story revolves around the Infinity Sword, which was shattered long ago, and its fragments, known as the Infinity Fractals. Dr. Doom and his minions are seeking to possess these powerful artifacts, each granting special abilities. With the city in danger, the Super Hero Squad must band together to save the day.
The game features two main modes of play: Adventure Mode and Battle Mode.
Adventure Mode: This mode is designed for two players, offering six campaigns to recover the Infinity Fractals and unlock new powers. Players can choose from characters such as the Hulk, Falcon, Iron Man, Thor, Silver Surfer, or Wolverine.
Unlockable campaigns featuring Spider-Man and Dr. Doom.
Co-operative play.
Unlockable characters, battle areas, and costumes.
Battle Mode: This mode allows up to four players to fight as either a hero or villain, choosing from over 20 characters including Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. Players can use and create combination attacks.
