While playing, you can pick up different characters to form a party, each with their own personality and combat style. Battles occur randomly and become semi-strategic turn-based if you disable auto-combat. The battles take place on a diagonal grid, where you move and fight the enemy. In these fights, there are many battle options, including special skills and tag-team attacks. Your actions are based on an action gauge that fills up. The game can be saved manually or automatically.
