The player controls Pandemonium 2 's heroine, Nikki, and her companions, Fargus and his puppet, Sid, as they navigate through various levels in pursuit of the Comet of Infinite Possibilities. The evil Goon Queen Zorrscha is also after the comet, setting off a thrilling adventure for our heroes.

The gameplay in Pandemonium 2 follows the same 2D platformer style seen in its predecessor, despite the console's 3D capabilities. Players can choose between controlling Nikki or Fargus for each level, with each character possessing unique abilities. For example, Nikki has increased jumping power, while Fargus uses his puppet, Sid, to unleash various attacks. Both characters can also collect power-ups and items to aid them in their quest.

Pandemonium 2 was released on the PlayStation console on September 30th , 1997, offering a fun and challenging platforming experience for fans of the genre.
