FACTS ABOUT VICE CITY
History
Vice City is currently run by dealers and weasels. Millionaires in expensive suits and flash cars spend their afternoons determining the fate of the less fortunate and waging war on rival drug barons.
Climate
Vice City's warm weather is likely the main reason for its habitation. The weather is generally hot and sunny all year round, with occasional showers and thunderstorms.
Government and Politics
Congressman Alex Shrub is the Republican representative for Vice City. He is a figure to watch in the right-wing world of Vice City politics, hailed as a golden boy who promises solutions and charms everyone. However, gossip labels him a drunken lech concerned only with seducing interns or finding his next scotch.
There is a strong military presence in Vice City. Fort Baxter Air Base is located close to the airport.
Economy
Vice City's economy relies heavily on tourism and the black market. A lot of money, some real and some not, floats around the city. It changes hands in large quantities and moves quickly through those who know how to spend it.
Religion
In Vice City, money is God. Even local TV and radio superstar evangelist Pastor Richards offers guaranteed entry to heaven for the right price. Make a donation and you will be saved.
Population and People
The population of Vice City is approximately 1.8 million inhabitants. Many are foreign-born, while the rest are inbred. A large proportion are Cubans, Haitians, rednecks, and retirees.
AREAS OF INTEREST
Little Haiti
Little Haiti is the center of Haitian life in Vice City. A phrase book may be useful if you don't speak much Creole. It's well worth the trip, especially to visit Auntie Poulet for voodoo and gumbo. Phil Cassidy's hang out is also located nearby.
The Beach
Head to the beach for a romantic stroll, to ensure you aren't being followed, for a dramatic showdown, or just to take in the sunset, top up your tan, or do some bodybuilding.
Shark attacks off Vice City happen a few times a year. There are more sharks out there than you would like to think, so the best advice is to stay out of the water!
Ocean Drive
Cruising down Ocean Drive is a serious night out in Vice City. The strip's neon hotels and bars are full of Vice City's young and beautiful, including models, actors, tourists, dealers, and millionaires, all out having a good time. During the day, roller skaters line the beachfront, and bikini-clad beauties stroll along the sand and fill the cafés.
Little Havana
The Cuban influence is strong throughout the city, particularly prevalent in Little Havana. Spanish is the predominant language, and the majority of inhabitants are Cuban exiles. If you visit the neighborhood, we highly recommend taking the time to visit Café Robina.
Vice City Skyline
Vice City's skyline is, like most of Vice City, misleadingly beautiful. At night, the buildings are illuminated and give an enticing illusion of glittering perfection.
Vice Port
Vice Port is located to the south of the city.
