Lightening Force Quest for the Darkstar

The story begins with the Darkstar, a powerful and malevolent being, threatening to destroy Earth. The only way to stop him is for your chosen character to pilot a ship called the Starblade and fight his way through hordes of aliens in a bid to reach the Darkstar's lair and put an end to his evil plans.

The gameplay revolves around shooting down enemy ships, avoiding obstacles and collecting power-ups. Each level takes place on a different planet, with increasingly difficult enemies and bosses to defeat. Your goal is to navigate through each level without running out of lives, as the game gets progressively harder.
