The Kingdom of Thornwood has been invaded by Dark Sol's men, and it is your job to vanquish them in Shining in the Darkness , a story-driven console-style RPG for the Sega Genesis. The game follows the journey as you explore various locations, fight enemies, and uncover secrets to save the kingdom.
The gameplay in Shining in the Darkness is turn-based combat with cartoony graphics. You will encounter various characters, some of whom can aid or hinder your progress. The dialogue is displayed via dialog bubbles above the speaking characters, although the protagonist never speaks. There are no sub-quests to complete; instead, you need to find and use special metal to forge unique items. With around 25-30 hours of gameplay, you'll be engaging in battles and exploring before reaching the final showdown and conclusion.
