David Crane's Amazing Tennis , released for the Super Nintendo in 1992, is a tennis game that combines both an exhibition and a tournament mode. In the head-to-head exhibition mode, players can choose their opponent from a selection of ranked players, with higher-ranked opponents being more challenging. The tournament mode allows for up to 16 players to compete to become the champion, all on either grass, hard, or clay courts.
Gameplay involves serving, volleying, and using various shots such as topspin, drop shots, volleys, lobs, slices, and overhead smashes. Players can also decide whether to use a soft or hard serve to keep their opponent off balance. The game's presentation includes both fictional players and endorsement from Footlocker.
