Dokapon Kingdom is an exciting party game where monsters have attacked and pillaged the kingdom of its riches. The adventurer who returns the kingdom's wealth will be rewarded with the honor of his daughter's hand, and therefore the title of future king. This offer extends to both male and female characters, with a different ending depending on the chosen character.
Players can enjoy three different modes: Story Mode, Normal Mode, and Shopping Race. In these modes, players create their character and begin play, with the chosen mode affecting the overall goal to be achieved. The Story Mode follows the standard plot, while Normal Mode allows players to customize certain factors of play ahead of time. Players can choose from three starting classes: warrior, chief, and magician, which level up to 11 as they progress.
The game features a unique blend of board game elements with light role-playing game mechanics, including basic jobs, a battle system, and upgrades. Players can move around the game board using a spinner, triggering battles, advancing the story, or introducing mini-games. It's a 2-player game by default, but up to four players can participate.
The Dokapon Kingdom was released on the Wii in 2008 and has since been released on the Switch and Windows platforms with slight modifications. These updates include online multiplayer, female outfits with less risqué designs, additional events, increased enemy item drop rates, and a revised punishment system.
