TOCA Race Driver 3 follows on from the ideas started in Race Driver 2, aiming to include various forms of racing and add a high level of realism.
The game features over 70 licensed cars, 80 real tracks, and 35 different types of racing. Players can choose from two main gameplay modes: World Tour and Career Mode.
World Tour mode lets the player start a racing career, working with a Scottish manager to gain recognition and compete in top-level events. The game uses 3D rendered cutscenes to tell the story, showing the behind-the-scenes life of a professional racer.
Career Mode allows players to specialize in one type of racing, competing in longer, more realistic races without the distractions of other disciplines.
TOCA Race Driver 3 offers two driving models: Simulation and Pro-Simulation. The latter is designed for gamers with analog steering wheels only, while Simulation mode is easier to play and suitable for those without wheels or seeking a less challenging experience.
