During a great war, the land of Celenheim was separated into two sides; the light side and the dark side. On the side of the Light, the Enclave was protected from all sides by a wide rift, a bottomless abyss. On the Dark side, twisted forms struggled for survival, while slowly growing more powerful, preparing to invade the Light side once again.

The gameplay in Enclave is action-packed and varied, with levels set across medieval environments such as forests, castles, and ruins. The player must choose from one of twelve characters, each with unique abilities and playstyles, to complete objectives such as invading the Light side or defending it. The game features a mix of shooting, puzzle-solving, and combat, using a range of weapons including swords, bows, and staffs. Shields and potions are also available to aid the player, while armor provides protection in various forms.
