In Pocket Dogs , you interact with eight different dogs in an effort to improve your human-canine relationship. You'll be able to converse with your dog, with the dialogue changing depending on the species. You'll also be able to make the dog play games by sharing toys with it. As the player, you'll be able to play games for yourself via three mini games included in the title. By playing mini games players can win jewels which may be used to purchase items for their canine companion and decorate its living space. Featured breeds include the Pug, Chihuahua, and Shih Tzu. Pocket Dogs is developed in conjunction with the Hana Deka Club, a brand of toys and gifts featuring the signature cute dogs photographed with fisheye lenses.

How to Play
How to Start the Game
Insert the Game Pak into either a Game Boy® Advance or a Game Boy® Advance SP and turn the power on.
Press START on the Title Screen.
When the Mode Select Screen appears, use the +Control Pad to choose the mode you wish to play.
Select it by pressing the A Button.
When you start playing, select “New Game.” When you have Saved Data, continue on with the fun by selecting “Keep Playing.”
Communication
(Please see Page 9 for details)
You can chat with the puppies and become friends with them, decorate your room with various items, and more.
Have lots of fun playing and making friends!
Album
You can view the pictures that appear while talking to your dog.
These pictures can also be viewed through the Command Panel.
Game Flow
When you press the A Button in a room, the “Command Panel” will appear. With this, you and the puppy can communicate.
You can get “Precious Jewels” in the Mini-Games, which you can use to trade for items.
There are shops that sell furniture.
You can decorate your room with the items you have acquired, and can even use them!
Use the Command Panel to become even better friends.
Enter Your Name
Use the +Control Pad to move the cursor around the letters.
Select a letter using the A Button.
You can make edits with the B Button.
Once you've decided upon a name, choose “Select” and press the A Button to confirm.
(When you press START the cursor skips to “Select”).
Use the button at the right of the screen to change the text type.
Choose Gender
You will be asked: “Are you a girl, or a boy?”
Use the +Control Pad to select.
Choose Select to confirm.
You will also be asked: “Do you have a Boyfriend or a Girlfriend?”
Use the +Control Pad to select.
Choose Select to confirm.
Choose Your Dog
Choose the puppy that you like using the +Control Pad, and confirm your selection by pressing the A Button.
The puppy's name and face will appear.
Give your puppy a name as explained on Page 10.
Confirmation
If everything on the screen looks OK, select “Yes” and confirm your selection by pressing the A Button.
Meeting for the First Time
Once you are finished getting ready, the House Screen will appear.
When the player isn't operating the controls, the puppy will move freely around the house.
When you press the A Button the “Command Panel” will appear.
For more on the Command Panel, please see page 14.
If an A Button Icon appears at the bottom right of the screen, the screen will move forward if you press the A Button.
*If you continuously press the A Button while a message is being displayed then the message will appear faster.*
When you press the +Control Pad you can move around the house (The puppy will freely move around the house as well).
As you and your puppy become better friends, the flower next to your puppy's house will start to grow and bloom. How big can you make it grow?
How to Use the Menus
When you press the A Button on the House Screen, a Command Panel will appear (You can close this by pressing the B Button).
You can use the Command Panel to communicate with your dog.
Select the Command Panel and press the A Button to confirm your selection.
Strike Up A Conversation
Select the content of what you wish to talk about with your puppy (How you're feeling, your fortune, etc.).
You can also ask for your fortune!
Playing Mini-Games
You can also play Mini-Games. Depending on your results, you can also receive various “Precious Jewels”.

SHOPPING
You can trade the “Precious Jewels” for items.

To confirm the number of Precious Jewels in your possession on the Shopping Screen.
Decorating Your House
You can decorate your house using the items you have.
*You can increase your items by shopping and playing mini-games.*
When you place an item in your house, press the A Button to confirm.
Or, you can press the B Button to quit.
Other Features
Play with toys together! Select the toy you want to play with.
You can also go places with your dog! Select a ticket to the place you want to go.
You will meet all kinds of friends.
If you purchase new songs (In-Game Music) at the Shop, you can select the music that you wish to hear.
Saving
You can also save your current game. You can pick up and continue later.
Don't turn off power while saving/loading.
When overwriting data, old data is updated.
When you want to stop playing, select “Yes.” If you want to continue playing, select “No.”
Mini-Game: Arrange It!! Pocket Dogs!!
When you get up to 3 of the same dog blocks stuck together they will dissolve.
When a block dissolves, a new block will fall down from above.
Dissolve enough blocks away to match the Goal before the time reaches zero!
