Supremacy MMA is a mixed martial arts fighting game that takes an arcade approach, deviating from the 3D view of contemporary titles like UFC Undisputed. Instead, it uses a 2D stage perspective reminiscent of classic fighting games such as Street Fighter or Tekken . The visual display of the combat's graphic violence is notable, with fighters showing signs of injury and blood splatters on the floor.
The main game mode, Supremacy Stories, features a narrative that follows each character. Some characters are modeled after real-world athletes, including Jens Pulver, Jerome Le Banner, Malaipet and – as one of two female fighters – Felice Herrig. Supremacy MMA marks the introduction of female fighters to a MMA video game.
The game offers classic VS battles, online modes, and Supremacy Stories mode for each character. Additionally, there are two Tournaments modes: Battle Royale and Survival Ladder.
