The Cursed Crusade follows Denz de Bayle, a knight afflicted with a Templar curse that brings him strength but slowly drives him towards hell. His quest for a cure leads him to team up with Esteban Noviembre, also cursed, as they battle against an evil group with sinister plans.
The gameplay revolves around traditional hack & slay mechanics, where players walk through linear levels, fighting enemies and engaging in melee combat. The curse allows de Bayle to switch between the normal game world and a hellish realm, which provides advantages such as increased strength, special attacks, and access to collectibles. However, this comes at a cost, draining his energy, which can be replenished by killing enemies. Players can upgrade their weapons by unlocking combo attacks through skill trees, earning victory points from completing missions and finding hidden treasures in the hell world.
