Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap , released on 2017, is an enhanced remake of the original Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap for the SEGA Master System. It features all new visuals, music and sound effects while maintaining the gameplay of the original almost completely.
The game has minor differences compared to the original version. Instead of receiving charm stones as random loot, there are now six new hidden areas where they can be obtained. Once obtained, they can be used to buy a new item.
One notable feature is the addition of a hard mode with a time limit.
Players can switch between old and new visuals/audio at any time, giving them flexibility in their gaming experience.
