The story in Disney Sports Football follows Disney Legends as they compete against each other on the gridiron. The player takes control of these characters, who include Donald Duck, Goofy, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, and others, in a battle for football supremacy.
The gameplay involves four different modes: Exhibition, Practice, Co-op, and Dream for the Cup. In this mode, the player competes in a tournament to win the championship. The game also features magic that can be cast during matches, giving players special abilities such as increased speed or the power to shield themselves or knock opponents out of the way.
