As Crazy Climber , you'll be climbing your way to the top of a series of buildings, where a helicopter is waiting to pick you up and take you to the next building. As you scale a building, you're able to climb up and sideways, but you can't climb down.
While climbing a building, windows will open and close simultaneously. If any window closes on either of your hands, you'll lose your grip. However, if a window closes on both of your hands, you'll fall to your death, resulting in the loss of a life. You have three Climber s in total, but you're awarded an extra Climber every 30,000 points. Besides windows, you'll be faced with other dangers, including bald-headed guys who hurl various objects at you, pesky condors who fly by, dropping eggs and droppings of an unpleasant substance.
The goal is to try to avoid or overcome each of those hazards as you continue climbing in your attempt to reach the rooftop. If you fall to your death by windows or objects, another Climber will replace you and start at the same location where the last one fell. The specific danger won't be present at the same point, so you can go further up to face the next danger.
The game is released for the Atari 2600 in January 1982 and is a classic example of an action & adventure game. You'll be awarded a bonus score on each building every time after getting carried off by the helicopter. However, each bonus score will decrease by every ten seconds that you spend scaling each building as you attempt to reach the top.
