The story of Double Dragon II begins where its predecessor left off - with the Black Warriors gang seeking revenge against Billy and Jimmy Lee for their defeat. The Dragons must now embark on a mission to avenge Marian's death and ultimately face off against the Black Warriors for the second time.
The gameplay of Double Dragon II builds upon the foundations established in its predecessor, introducing new traps, moves, and enemy characters to the mix. The game also features a direction-oriented attacking system, similar to the original Renegade, which replaces traditional punch and kick buttons. This new approach adds a fresh layer of complexity to the gameplay.
The NES version of Double Dragon II offers several enhancements over its arcade counterpart, including new stages, moves, and cut-scenes, as well as a new final boss and ending. One notable feature is the addition of 2-Player Co-Op gameplay, which allows for two players to team up and take on the game's challenges together.
