As The Legendary Axe , you play as Gogan, a brave warrior on a quest to rescue his childhood friend Flare from the clutches of the Jagu tribe. The village has been ordered to sacrifice a human each year, and this time it's Flare who's been chosen. With the help of the powerful The Legendary Axe , Gogan sets out to defeat the Jagu leader and put an end to their evil ways.
Gameplay in The Legendary Axe is fast-paced action, with Gogan exploring six zones filled with forests, caves, mountains, dungeons, and castles. As he navigates through each zone, he'll encounter various enemies that must be defeated using the axe. Breaking idols will reveal power-ups, such as increased axe power and speed, extra lives, and access to secret areas. At the end of each zone, a boss must be defeated to progress further.
