Hurricanes is based on the 90's cartoon show. You play as Cal and must navigate through 12 levels. The objective of each level is to collect a certain amount of items to unlock the exit to the next level. These items include medallions and different colored trophies. The game takes you through various locations, including a lagoon, a haunted house, an airport, a western town, an ancient temple, and eventually leads to the gym for the final fight against the Gorgons. You'll encounter many enemies throughout the levels, such as grunts, invisible cowboys, spiders, and members of the Gorgons.

The gameplay is a standard platformer experience. Cal must jump and run through levels to avoid obstacles and collect items. The game features different colored platforms that require you to time your jumps perfectly to land on them safely. There are also enemies that will try to stop you, so you'll need to use your wits and reflexes to overcome them.

Hurricanes was released for the Sega Game Gear in December 1994.
