Battle Fantasia is an arcade-style fighting game similar to Guilty Gear with RPG elements. The Xbox 360 versions include arcade mode, a training mode, and a versus mode (either offline or online for head-to-head play and ranking).
The story mode is the main feature of all versions, set in a fantasy world where darkness and monsters ravaged the lands. A world was divided into two kingdoms after a devastating war between mankind and the evil forces, but the Deathbringer's return threatens to destroy it again.
Players control one of twelve characters, each with their own story that links to the war and Deathbringer's reappearance. Each character has unique skills and weapons, but unlike traditional fighting games, life bars are based on hit points, deducting health from attacks and attacker strength.
The game features 2-D cel-shaded graphics on 3-D environments and hand-drawn illustrations by Emiko Iwasaki for the story. The characters are also illustrated by her in the game.
Battle Fantasia was released on May 29th, 2008 for the Xbox 360 console and belongs to the Fighting genre.
