Sonic Superstars

Sonic Superstars is a new addition to the Sonic series, bringing a fresh take on 2.5D side-scrolling platforming. The story follows Sonic and his friends as they attempt to thwart Dr. Eggman's plans with Fang the Sniper and Trip the Sungazer. Their goal is to protect the North Star Islands from being turned into a Badnik-filled nightmare.

Players can choose from four unique characters, each with their own special abilities and powers. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose are joined by Trip, who becomes available after completing the main story. Each character shares basic abilities like the Spin Dash, but also boasts exclusive moves that set them apart.

The game is divided into 12 zones, each with one or two acts. Act-ending boss fights provide a welcome respite, while Giant Rings scattered throughout the levels offer access to Special Stages and Chaos Emeralds. Collecting all seven emeralds grants special powers, which can be unlocked by collecting rings in bulk.

A local co-op mode allows up to four players to play together on a single screen, making for a fun and chaotic experience. The game also features Battle Mode, where players compete in three random battle stages online or locally using customisable robots acquired with Medals.
