About

Great Saiyaman is a playable character featured throughout the Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi fighting game series released between 2002 and 2007. In these titles, he represents Gohan's quirky superhero persona, complete with unique theatrical poses and specialized moves like the Justice Kick. Depending on the specific game, he is selectable either as an independent character or as a transformation/costume for Gohan.
In the original Dragon Ball Z Budokai (2002), players unlock this character by completing the "World Tournament" mode or purchasing his breakthrough capsule. The character's inclusion continued in Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 (2003) and Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (2004), where capsule-based customization allows players to equip various physical and energy attacks, such as the Justice Rush. The European-exclusive Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 - Édition Collector (2005) maintained this gameplay structure while adding minor cosmetic updates.
With the transition to the 3D arena fighter format in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi (2005), the character's playstyle shifted to leverage larger environments, emphasizing rapid aerial maneuvers and signature ki blasts. In Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (2006) and Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (2007), his mechanical depth expanded. These later installments integrated him into the "Dragon History" story mode, recreating key battles from the Majin Buu saga, and allowed players to select his helmeted or sunglasses-wearing variants as distinct cosmetic options.
