SPECIAL ATTACKS
Some special attacks require additional commands after launch. An onscreen graphic will prompt you.
Power-Up Attack
When you see this graphic, rapidly push controller buttons or rotate the left or right analog stick. You have limited time to build power. The faster you "mash" buttons, the greater the attack. A higher bar on screen means more damage to the opponent.
WISDOM OF KING KAI™
Avoidance is the key.
Dodging or interrupting powerful attacks is crucial. Tap Guard (X button) plus up or down directional button to jump sideways. Try to attack while your opponent is powering up. Good reaction time can avoid devastating attacks.
Push-Back Attack
When an opponent launches an attack, you can try to repel it. When you see this graphic, rapidly rotate the left or right analog stick or push controller buttons. Characters will battle in a reverse tug-of-war. The player who generates the most power wins. If the attacker wins, major damage is dealt. If the defender wins, damage is minimal.
Surprise Defense
Defenders can sometimes negate a special attack. When this graphic appears, both players must press X, Square, Circle, Triangle, or no button. If the defending player presses the same button as the attacker, some damage is avoided.
Ultimate Attack
Some attacks, like Yamcha's Spirit Ball Attack, are so powerful they require an additional button combination. Press the correct buttons in the right order for major damage. Fumbling will cause the attack to fail. SAVING AND LOADING
All progress, including unlocked story chapters and skills, is saved automatically when you start a new game. You need an 8MB PlayStation®2 memory card with 70KB free space in MEMORY CARD slot 1.
You can only save one game per memory card. Selecting New Game with an existing save on the memory card will overwrite the old data.
You cannot save progress to a newly inserted memory card if the original was removed.
To save, select Options from the Main Menu, then Save / Load, then Save Game Data.
To load a game, select Load Game at the Load Game / New Game screen after the game starts. Alternatively, select Options from the Main Menu, then Save / Load, then Load Game Data. You must have a memory card with a saved game in MEMORY CARD slot 1.
