SPECIAL ATTACKS
Some special attacks require additional commands after being launched. An onscreen graphic will prompt you.
Power-Up Attack
When you see this graphic, push controller buttons or rotate the left or right analog stick as quickly as possible. You have limited time to build power.
The faster you "mash" buttons, the greater the attack. A higher bar on the screen means more damage to the opponent.
WISDOM OF KING KAI™
Avoidance is key. Dodging or interrupting powerful attacks is crucial for survival.
•
Tap Guard (button) + up or down directional button to jump to either side.
•
Try to land an attack while your opponent is powering up a special attack. Good reaction time can avoid devastating attacks.
Push-Back Attack
When an opponent launches an attack, you can try to repel it. When you see this graphic, rotate the left or right analog stick or push controller buttons quickly.
Characters will battle in a reverse tug-of-war. The player who generates the most power wins. If the attacker wins, major damage is dealt. If the defender wins, damage is minimal.
Surprise Defense
Defenders sometimes get another chance to negate a special attack. When you see this graphic, both players must press either the button, button, button, ▲ button, or no button.
If the defending player presses the same button as the attacker, they avoid some damage.
Ultimate Attack
For powerful attacks (e.g., Yamcha's Spirit Ball Attack), you must enter an additional button combination for the attack to succeed. Press the right buttons in the right order for major damage. Fumble your fingers, and the attack will fail.
