Inti Creates was established by former Capcom employees, including Takuya Aizu. The company is best known for its close collaboration with Capcom on the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX franchises. They have also developed original titles such as the Azure Striker Gunvolt series and Gal*Gun.
Founded in 1996, the studio released its debut title, the 3D action game
Speed Power Gunbike, for the PlayStation in 1998. Following this release, the developer transitioned toward handheld consoles, producing the Game Boy Advance port of
Mega Man & Bass in 2001 and the puzzle-platformer
M&M's Blast in 2001.
The company's early 2000s output solidified its reputation for high-quality, challenging 2D side-scrollers. This era was defined by the critical success of
Mega Man Zero (2002) on the Game Boy Advance. The game's precise mechanics and dark narrative tone led to a highly successful franchise, continuing with
Mega Man Zero 2 (2003) and
Mega Man Zero 3 (2004). These releases established the studio's signature aesthetic of detailed pixel art and fast-paced gameplay, laying the groundwork for their subsequent independent and collaborative projects in the retro-style action genre.
