Mega Man Zero 3 is the third installment in Capcom's Mega Man Zero series. You play as Zero, continuing where the previous game left off. The goal is to find and neutralize the recently escaped "Dark Elf" before it can brainwash the Resistance to conquer Neo Arcadia.
The gameplay involves exploring levels, using your abilities to overcome obstacles, and fighting enemies. To extend the life of the Cyber Elves, a new system called "Cyber Space" has been introduced. In Cyber Space, you can enter doors that allow you to use each Cyber Elf as many times as needed without them dying. However, there are limited "Secret Disks" available in Cyber Space, so it's recommended to spend more time in the normal levels.
Zero can also gain new abilities by finding and installing chips into himself through a new system called the "chip". This adds depth to the gameplay, as you'll need to manage Zero's abilities carefully to overcome challenges. The classic Cyber Elf system has also been improved upon, with the introduction of Cyber Space levels.

Game Guide
Extracted from the original game manual
In this action-platforming sequel to the Mega Man Zero series, players control the legendary cyborg warrior Zero as he joins Ciel and the Resistance to investigate a mysterious crashed spaceship emitting dark elf-like energy. The story follows their journey to uncover the secrets behind the new threat, leading to intense battles against former enemies and powerful new foes. The narrative explores themes of conflict resolution versus militaristic force while continuing the struggle against the remnants of Neo Arcadia.
Story
MEGAMAN ZERO 3 PROLOGUE
The legendary red Reploid "Zero" ended the threat of Copy X, the ruler of Neo Arcadia, and helped Ciel and her friends escape certain doom. After leaving the partially destroyed Resistance Base, Ciel joined other resistance forces fighting against the regime.
The commander of the new Resistance Base, Elpizo, gave Ciel a mysterious Cyber Elf. She devoted herself to finding a new alternate source of energy with the help of her allies.
With their great leader Copy X gone, Neo Arcadia appointed one of their Four Guardians, Harpuia, as their temporary leader. They continued with their previous schemes despite the loss.
Elpizo was bent on handling the conflict through force, contrary to Ciel's aspirations for a peaceful resolution. He initiated "Operation Righteous Strike," a full-scale attack on all of Neo Arcadia.
The operation ended in tragedy as Elpizo was defeated by Harpuia's retaliating forces. This defeat made Elpizo hungry for power, and he set his sights on the Dark Elf.
The Dark Elf is said to have triggered the Elf Wars, and Elpizo began a path of destruction to obtain it. He retrieved the Dark Elf from its resting place in the depths of Neo Arcadia and put it inside his body.
Elpizo believed this would grant him ultimate power. However, the power was too much for him to control, and Zero defeated him.
This event allowed them to avoid a repeat of the tragedy that was the Elf Wars. Despite the relief, a shadowy figure who had long prayed for the revival of the Dark Elf watched from the sidelines.
One day, long after the Dark Elf nightmare had passed and Neo Arcadia attacks subsided, news reached the Resistance. A giant spaceship had crashed down on a snowy plain.
The crash site emitted an energy reaction as strong as the Dark Elf. Ciel, alongside Zero and her friends in the Resistance, set off to investigate.

Starting the Game
New Game
Press the START button on the Title Screen to bring up the main menu. Select "New Game" to begin a new game from the beginning, or "Load Game" to load a save and continue from there.
Load Game
Select a file from among the save data and continue the game from that location.
Select Mission
Missions are assigned in the Command Room. Stand on the plate in the middle of the room and talk to the Operator to select your mission. Missions that can be redone freely once cleared will also be available by talking to the Operator here.
Cyber Elves
Satellite
This type of Elf follows and circles you, providing backup. You can use them as many times as you want, and you won't have to worry about having any points taken off at the Result Screen either. You can equip one Elf in each of the two Satellite slots, and can change Elves from the menu screen.
Fusion
Some of these Elves can actually enter your body and become one with you, or transform into Sub-Tanks, etc. These types of Elves will die after one use, and will result in a penalty taken off on the Result Screen. Among the Fusion Elves, some can be modified and turned into Satellite Elves. There is no limit to the number of Fusion Elves you can use, in general.
Energy Crystals
Energy Crystals are essential for raising and modifying Elves, and each Elf requires a specific amount of Energy Crystals in order to raise or modify it.
List
View a list of all the Elves you've acquired through decoding Secret Discs.
Icon Explanations
Cycle through the tabs with the left and right directional buttons. In order from the left they are Nurse, Animal, and Hacker.
Satellite Elves
The ones with an "A" in the bottom-right are ones that go to work automatically when you enter cyberspace. You can use them as-is, just like that. Currently in use as a Satellite. The number in the bottom-right tells you which Satellite it is, either 1 or 2.
Fusion Elves
The ones with an "A" in the bottom-right are ones that go to work automatically when you enter cyberspace. You can use them as is, but they can also be modified for the opposite use, i.e., from Fusion to Satellite or from Satellite to Fusion. They can be used as-is, or modified and upgraded.
Cyber Space
At various points in the game you will find doors that lead to a world called Cyber Space. Stand in front of the door and press UP on the directional buttons to enter, and to come back to the real world, find the exit somewhere inside.
While in Cyber Space, the powers of certain Elves will automatically become effective, making you super-strong.
Saving the Game
When you're ready to save your game, go to the Resistance Base and talk to Ciel. When she asks, "Do you want to save?" select Yes. Your current progress, total number of Secret Discs, and button configuration will be saved. You can save up to five games before having to overwrite old save data.
