n-Space Inc. was a video game development studio founded in 1994. The company became prominent for developing handheld ports and companion games for major franchises, including Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Hannah Montana, and Skylanders Giants, as well as working on 1990s releases like Die Hard Trilogy and Myst.
Established by industry veterans, the studio built its early reputation by securing high-profile porting contracts for major 1990s releases. The company handled the Sega Saturn adaptations of the horror game
D and the adventure classic
Myst, alongside contributing to the multi-platform release of
Die Hard Trilogy in 1996. These projects established the developer's technical expertise in translating complex console and PC experiences to alternative hardware.
This specialization defined the studio's later output, particularly on Nintendo's handheld platforms. For the
Marvel Ultimate Alliance franchise, the developer created the Nintendo DS, Wii, and PlayStation 2 versions of
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, tailoring the action-RPG gameplay to fit the unique inputs of each system. Within the
Hannah Montana franchise, the studio developed
Hannah Montana: Music Jam and the video game adaptation of
Hannah Montana: The Movie for the Nintendo DS, utilizing the touch screen for rhythm-based mechanics. Additionally, the studio expanded the
Skylanders Giants franchise by developing its distinct Nintendo 3DS version, which featured a unique storyline and gameplay loop separate from the home console releases. The studio operated for over two decades before closing in 2016.
