Pac-Man, released on the Atari 2600 in 1981, is an action & adventure game that follows the story of a little yellow dot-muncher named Pac-Man who must navigate a maze to clear it of various dots and fruit. His goal is constantly challenged by four ghosts: Inky the blue ghost, Shadow the red ghost, Speedy the pink ghost, and Clyde the orange ghost.
The gameplay involves controlling Pac-Man as he moves around the maze, eating pellets and fruits while avoiding being touched by the ghosts. The game becomes more challenging when one of the Power-Pills is consumed, allowing Pac-Man to eat the ghosts for bonus points. However, this temporary advantage is short-lived as the ghosts regain their original form and resume their pursuit.
The game's intermissions feature humorous animations of Pac-Man and his ghostly adversaries, providing a lighthearted break from the intense gameplay.
