Kabul Spy is a color graphic adventure game where players interact using typed VERB NOUN commands. It features a save/restore system and a scoring mechanic with a maximum of 700 points, earned by solving puzzles. Players can lose points for non-fatal mistakes, such as harming innocents, while fatal errors end the game and display progress. You play as a Western agent tasked with rescuing Professor Paul Eisenstadt, held hostage by the KGB in Afghanistan. Starting at an airport in Pakistan, you travel through Bahawalpur and toward the border near Quetta. With the help of a smuggler named Hisrin, you cross into Afghanistan and reach Kandahar. From there, you journey through harsh wilderness to a prison near Kabul, rescue the professor, and escape by seizing a MiG jet from an airport, flying both of you to safety.
