Iron Aces is a World War 2 flight simulator game where great liberties have been taken with the historical accuracy of the world and events. What it means is that the game takes creative freedom to alter reality, particularly in its portrayal of major conflicts. The most notable difference lies in the theatre of operations; instead of being fought on multiple fronts across Europe and North Africa, the game focuses on a group of islands in the Pacific where the four main sides - American, British, German, and Japanese - are all fighting each other.
The gameplay revolves around single-player flight missions where you control an American pilot who is initially at odds with the Axis forces but later allies with the British. Most of the missions take place in the air, where you will engage in dogfights against enemy aircraft.
